FAQ

Radio is a technology that uses electromagnetic waves to transmit sound (and sometimes data) wirelessly through the air.

A radio transmitter converts sound into electromagnetic waves, which travel through the air. A radio receiver picks up these waves and turns them back into sound.

  • AM (Amplitude Modulation): Changes the strength of the signal to carry sound. Has longer range but lower sound quality.

  • FM (Frequency Modulation): Changes the frequency of the signal. Has higher sound quality but shorter range.

  • Not exactly. Walkie-talkies are two-way radios designed for short-distance communication, while broadcast radio is usually one-way.
